KJELL-RUNE TOFTEVÅG PRESENTS NEW INSIGHTS ON WATER CUT MEASUREMENT WITH CLAMP-ON METERS AT NOFGM 2023 ANNUAL MEETING.

Kjell-Rune Toftevåg presents new insights on water cut measurement with clamp-on meters at the Annual Meeting of the Norwegian Society for Oil and Gas Measurement (NFOGM) in Stavanger on 30 March at 12:30.

XSENS Flow Solutions has developed water cut measurement technology with an easy-to-install clamp-on design. This is based on measuring the Speed of Sound of a oil and water mixture. Therefore, it can measure 0-100% water cut with an accuracy of +/- 1% absolute over the whole range.

The meter is installed on the outside of a pipe through the clamp-on design which provides many benefits. Therefore, the meter is not interfering with the pipe integrity nor is it in direct contact with the fluid. This means that the meter is not affected by corrosion, erosion, waxing or scaling which other inline water cut meters typically have problems with.
