XSENS RECEIVES FUNDING FROM NORWEGIAN RESEARCH COUNCIL FOR IT’S CLAMP-ON MUD FLOW AND QUALITY MEASUREMENT PROJECT
XSENS AS has been awarded funding from the Norwegian Research Council for developing a new and unique clamp on mud flow meter that can be used both on inflow and return flow of mud from the well (early kick detection system).
The Project will last for two and a half years involving study of mud rheology, secondary measurement methods and extensive onshore/offshore testing. The project is also sponsored by oil and service companies.
Researchers from NORCE both in Bergen and Stavanger as well as from Western Norway University of Applied Science will be part of the development.
“This is another proof that our clamp on Meters has a variety of opportunities in the global market.” says Magne Husebø, CEO of XSENS AS. “The background for this Project started with the successful testing of the XSENS flow Meter at Equinor`s test facility in Porsgrunn (Xsens.no news of June 6th 2019), regarding XSENS presentation of SPE paper 195624-MS.
